What size groups is best our location?
We can accommodate groups from 10 attendees up to 350 attendees for either a small intimate meeting or gathering or an elaborate training or awards event. With multiple event spaces and flexibility in set up, we are the perfect venue for board meetings, corporate trainings, incentive groups and annual award events.
Do you have both Indoor and Outdoor venues?
Yes! While most of our indoor space has windows with natural light, taking your group outdoors is a refreshing option. We have several indoor spaces that are flexible in configuration and breakout options and multiple outdoor options of various sizes available for outdoor luncheons, receptions and dinners.
What is the best time of year for a meeting or event in Charleston?
Although it is fairly warm in Charleston throughout the year, our peak meeting times are March through June and then September through November. Off season months of July and August, as well as December through February can offer planners additional savings over peak months and are a great consideration.
What are the best options for transportation for meeting and events?
Located only 13 miles and 25-30 minutes from Charleston Internation Airport, our hotel is a quick Uber or Lyft ride away. Once you are here, our hotel is within walking distance to most venues and attractions downtown, that can save additional transportation costs for groups. For Larger Groups are further venues and attractions, we work with several transportation companies in the area, as well as Explore Charleston and local DMC’s for transportation needs.

What are the dining options at Mills House?
Our signature restaurant Iron Rose is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch. Guests can also enjoy our all-day café, The Black Door Café, as well as our rooftop, poolside bar with bites, cocktails, beer and wine.
Do you offer vegetarian or vegan menu options?
We offer vegetarian and vegan options on each of our menus at The Mills House.
Do you accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions?

What type of cuisine is offered at Mills House restaurants?
Iron Rose offers fresh, Coastal Southern fare, The Black Door Café offers grab-and-go sandwiches, salads and sweet treats, and sandwiches, salads, burgers and more can be enjoyed at The Terrace Bar or poolside.
Do you offer set menus or group dining packages?

Are pets allowed in your dining areas?
Service dogs are allowed throughout our hotel. Our furry friends who are not service dogs are allowed in our lobby and courtyard, but not in our restaurants. Please note, our signature restaurant Iron Rose does serve food and drinks in the courtyard.
How do I get a marriage license in Charleston, SC?
If you are in South Carolina, you and your future spouse can visit any Probate Court office in person, with two valid forms of identification. You can also apply for a Charleston County marriage license online.

In order to get married in Charleston, you must have a valid South Carolina marriage license, which requires two forms of identification for each applicant. For full details and to fill out the marriage license application form online, please visit the Charleston County website.
Please note: You don’t need to be a resident of South Carolina and no blood tests are required. However, there is a minimum 24-hour waiting period to get your marriage license — and the Probate Court offices are only open from Monday to Friday — so be sure to plan in advance!

The check-in at The Mills House is 4:00 pm, with an 11:00 am check-out time.
How far away are you from the airport?
We are located 13 miles from the Charleston International Airport. This is about a 30-minute car ride away.
Is the Mills House a dog-friendly hotel?
The Mills House is sitting pretty and now pet friendly! We welcome you and your furry friend with open paws on your trip to Charleston.
Our pet fee consists of a one-time non-refundable cleaning fee of $200 per stay. Maximum two pets per room, each must be under 50lbs. Your best pal will receive a Mills House bandana to wear during their stay and will also enjoy a water/food bowl and pet blanket. Guidelines are in place to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of all of our guests (four-legged ones included!) so please ask about them when making your reservation.
What Is the Cancellation Policy?
We require 72 hours to cancel your room without penalty. Please call our front desk if you have any questions about your reservations at (843) 577-2400.
What is the closest golf course?
Patriots Point Links is the closest, located only 10 minutes by car from the hotel. Please make sure to prearrange tee times prior.
Do you offer transportation?
There is no transportation through the hotel however you are welcome to take a Lyft, Uber or if you prefer private transportation, TECS Limo Service. You can find them at www.tecslimoservice.com
Do you offer valet parking?
Yes, valet parking is available for hotel guests for $59 nightly. Please pull up to the front of the hotel on Meeting Street and we will be happy to assist in parking your car.
What is the closest open beach?
Folly Beach is about a 25-minute drive from The Mills House Hotel and Isle of Palms also is about a 30-minute drive.
